Thank you for booking with us. We look forward to welcoming you aboard your upcoming scenic rail journey.
Here’s everything you need to know before your trip:
Check-in is essential: Please follow the signs to the ticket office inside Dunedin Railway Station on arrival. If you're boarding at Pukerangi, please make yourself known to a train guard.
• Check-in opens 1 hour prior to departure
• Seating is allocated prior to arrival. We are unable to take seat requests on check-in. If you have a special request, please call beforehand. We will do our best to accommodate, however we can't guarantee any changes will be possible
• Please be ready to board at least 15 minutes before departure
We offer a wheelchair-accessible carriage and lift on request (limited capacity). Please email info@dunedinrailways.co.nz at least 72 hours before departure. (Max: 200kg | 900mm x 700mm)
Ramps are available for boarding at Dunedin Railway Station. There are no ramps at Pukerangi. All carriages have toilet facilities.

Getting to the Station
You’ll need to organise transport to the station. We’ve compiled a quick guide here.
Parking: Pay-and-display parking is available around the station. For campervans, the Thomas Burns Road carpark is your best option.
Luggage & Storage
We’re unable to store luggage at the station.
For storage options, visit the Municipal Lane public convenience centre Municipal Lane public convenience centre (behind the Dunedin iSITE).
What to Bring
• Comfortable clothing and flat shoes
• Warm layers and waterproof gear (weather can change quickly)

Cancellation Policy
Unless expressly stated otherwise in these Terms, no refunds or exchanges will be issued on any Ticket. For the avoidance of doubt, this applies to any force majeure event.
DRL may vary or cancel wholly or in part the scheduled services shown in the DRL timetable and may vary the location at which a DRL Service will pick up and set down Passengers as it considers appropriate, acting reasonably. DRL will use reasonable endeavours to notify Ticket holders of any relevant cancellation or variation.
21 days or more prior to train departure: FULL refund
7 days or more prior to train departure: 50% refund or gift voucher
48 hours or more prior to train departure: Exchange available
